I will dominate 'serious boxer' Jake Paul - Anthony Joshua

Anthony Joshua and Jake Paul face-off

Anthony Joshua will face Jake Paul in an eight-round fight which will be broadcast in real-time on Netflix.

British boxer Anthony Joshua declared he will "dominate completely" Jake Paul and "break" his opponent as the combatants met personally to publicize the upcoming boxing match.

Former two-time world title holder Joshua battles social media star turned fighter Jake Paul - in what is, by the numbers, a mammoth disparity - at Miami's arena on 19 December.

Boxer's Mindset

"I will injure his face and hurt his body. My goal is to show I'm the better fighter," Joshua, 35 years old, stated.

"I plan to overwhelm him. That's a fighter's mentality.

"I will really want to injure him. That's what I want to do."

Respectful Interaction

In spite of those words, a composed Joshua and social media star Jake Paul - usually recognized for his theatrics - were respectful and remained civil with each other.

Jake Paul instead criticized former Joshua rival the Cameroonian fighter and called him "not serious" after Ngannou turned down a fight offer.

Taking Aim at Fury

Joshua, at the same time, criticized UK rival Fury - and rejected a £1m bet 'Tyson Fury' says he will place on a victory for Paul.

"[Paul] is superior to Fury - he showed up," the boxer stated.

"I respect him for that."

Serious Fighter

In spite of saying he intends to hurt Jake Paul, Anthony Joshua chose not to speak negatively about his rival's boxing ability.

"Jake Paul is a serious fighter," he stated.

Jake Paul's History

Jake Paul - who originally gained popularity on the television network - has mainly boxed MMA fighters or faded names since entering professional boxing.

He was defeated by Briton Fury in 2023.

Commercial Success

Nevertheless, the novice remains one of boxing's biggest financial successes, consistently making substantial earnings.

Forecast and Confidence

The 28-year-old predicted a stoppage in rounds four or five and asserted he would prevent the highly-expected Fury-Joshua bout, which is allegedly under discussion for 2026.

"It's going to be my match with Fury next year," Paul declared.

Size Disparity

As Joshua and Paul participated in the customary face-off, with their height and weight contrast on show, it highlighted just how surprising this entire matchup is - and how astonishing it is that the fight is actually going ahead.
